574 cubic meters of concrete have been laid in 24 hours
The builders of Bamtonnelstroy-Most Group of Companies have completed concreting of two roadway slab sections of the superstructure of the bridge across the Zeya River in Blagoveshchensk with a total length of 126 meters. A concrete pipeline has been laid allowing to convey concrete from one concrete pump to both sections simultaneously. The builders have laid 574 cubic meters of concrete in 24 hours.
“We have simultaneously concreted two sections using one concrete pump. Effective teamwork of two construction workers teams and their synchronized actions ensured success. We can say that the builders have coped with this task, now the concrete is being cured. As of today, the roadway slab is over 60% ready, 4,668 out of 6,981 cubic meters of concrete have been laid so far,” Project Manager and Chief of Zeya Branch Office of Bamtonnelstroy-Most JSC Eduard Davydov said.
Preparation works for concreting were carried out throughout January even during the extremely low temperatures dropping to 41°C below zero. A rebar cage with a total weight of 185 tons was installed along the superstructure sections in order to create a shelter with a microclimate favorable for concrete laying.
The roadway slab will be 1,455 meters long. Once the slab construction is completed, the builders will carry out construction of expansion joints and do waterproofing.
The bridge across the Zeya River will have an optimally designed extradosed structure that allows to reduce weight of the superstructure, height of the pylons and length of stay cables. The length of the bridge is 1,933 m, and the length of approaches is 8,352 m.
Car traffic on the bridge will be arranged in one lane in each direction. According to preliminary estimates, the implementation of the project will decrease the traffic load on the existing bridge by 40-60%, which will allow the residents of the Amur Region to cover the distance between the city and the federal highway more conveniently.
