A total of 2,764 meters of the main tunnel (which will be 3,890-m long) have been driven, and a haulage and drainage gallery (3,911-m long) has been completed. The tunnel is scheduled for completion in the year 2013.
A motorway along the route (17.5-km long) and a motorway between the tunnel entries (11.5-km long) have been completed, and 17 bridges totaling 901 meters have been commissioned. The projects involved 7,000 cubic meters of earthmoving.
When all construction projects have been completed, this section of the Far Eastern Railway, which has been always a bottleneck, will allow traffic of the trains weighing up to 5.5 thousand metric tons.
