First rotorcrafts were received on the runway of a new heliport on the Russky Island. Pilots of the Eastern Regional Command of Russian Interior Troops of the Ministry of Interior highly commended the project commissioned by OJSC USK MOST, General Contractor.
The state-of-the art project on the Russky Island has a paved runway for aircraft-type helicopter takeoff and landing, a taxi track, a platform for four rotorcraft parking spaces, which allows for independent taxiing. The heliport is fully equipped for air traffic control. The heliport trimming operations are close to completion, and the facility will be used by the Federal Far East University and by residents of the Russky Island after the APEC-2012 Summit.
