Earlier it was reported that the Chinese side completed its part of the bridge: 17 pillars were erected, 16 spans were installed, and the total length of the object is currently 1,755 meters. To erect the four pillars to mount three flights of stairs going to the Russian side, a portion of the bridge will be about 310 metres. It is known that the cost of the Russian part of the project is about nine billion rubles, of which the bridge part accounts for four billion rubles. Deputy Prime Minister Yuri Trutnev previously expressed dissatisfaction with the work of the Rubicon company involved in the construction.
“Rubicon LLC and Usc Most signed a contract that specifies the terms and conditions of the Russian part of the bridge construction project. The General contractor has already delivered a drilling rig, the first batch of construction equipment, and residential cars to accommodate workers”,
the website reports. On Monday, regional Governor Alexander Levinthal discussed with Rubicon CEO Dmitry Astafiev the details of the construction of the facility.
“In the near future, it is planned to begin construction of the first coastal support. Work has already begun on the preparation of working documentation by the structures of the General contractor, General designer and technical supervision, and the necessary consultations are being held on the construction of the bridge crossing”,
Astafiev’s words are quoted on the website.
It is noted that the bridge should be built in two years, but options are being considered to reduce the construction time. Alexander Levintal, in turn, said that he has already sent an appeal to the leadership of Heilongjiang province to assist the Russian project organization in providing all the necessary materials.
