The Governor of the Amur region visited the first bridge over the Amur river that connected Russia and China

On June 10, the head of the Amur region, Vasily Orlov, visited the construction site of the first road bridge over the Amur river, connecting Russia and China, where the remaining works were discussed before the opening of traffic.

JSC “USK MOST”, part of the SK MOST Group of Companies, performed works as a General contractor for construction on the Russian side. The company’s specialists built the Russian half of the Blagoveshchensk – Heihe bridge, the bridge over the Kanikurganskaya river and the connecting road between them.

Construction of the bridge began in late 2016. Its length is 1080 meters. Each of the sides (Russian and Chinese) built a half – 540 meters each. Parts were built synchronously from both banks, their docking occurred on may 31, 2019. After that, work continued on both sides. The main stages of the bridge construction were completed in December 2019.
The total length of the bridge crossing is almost 20 kilometers. in addition to the main crossing, it includes 6 kilometers of road in China and 13 kilometers of access roads in Russia, of which 278 meters is the bridge over the Kanikurganskaya river.

The Governor of the Amur region, during a working trip to construction sites, also highly appreciated the work of specialists of SK MOST, who carried out repair and restoration work on the existing bridge over the Zeya river in the shortest possible time. He presented certificates of honor to several builders of the Group of Companies.

– the head of the region said.

The ferry connecting Blagoveshchensk with the left Bank was damaged and operated in emergency mode. It had to be restored urgently. Specialists replaced eight roadway slabs, and the longitudinal beams of the bridge’s roadway were reinforced with additional stiffening ribs.

In addition, the first installation meeting was held at the construction site of the new bridge over the Zeyariver in Blagoveshchensk. SK MOST Group of Companies is to build a 9 km long object, of which 2 km is a bridge crossing and 7 km is an approach. The crossing will consist of 26 pillars, the cable-stayed structure will be identical to the one that was implemented on the bridge over the Amur river.
