The Governor of the Amur Region Vasily Orlov examined the construction progress.

On the right-bank building site of the bridge crossing over the Zeya River in Blagoveshchensk the specialists of the USK MOST JSC, a part of the SK MOST Group of Companies, proceeded to well drilling in order to install bored piles of the sixth pillar of the future bridge.

“We commenced construction of the bridge pier. The first borehole on the right bank has been concreted. Now, we can say for sure that the construction of the bridge over the Zeya River is in full swing. The two banks started to connect!”

said the Director of the Construction Directorate of USK MOST JSC Eduard Davydov.

The Governor of the Amur Region Vasily Orlov visited the right-bank building site of the bridge crossing.

“We really need this bridge. Previously, it was planned to start the construction in 2021, but the condition of the old bridge over the Zeya had a significant impact on the situation. We were ready to start the project earlier, and it became possible after the assignment of the President of Russia to allocate funds to our region in 2020. As a result, the builders have appeared at the building sites, and work is underway right now. As it is known, the construction period of such facilities is about 4 years, but we do everything possible to finish the construction operations in a shorter time frame – within 30 months. The bridge is under permanent control,”

said the Governor.

The installation of bored piles involves placing of a metal frame into a pre-drilled hole and filling a borehole cavity with concrete. The foundation of the sixth pier consists of eight piles with a length of 27 meters.

The builders of USK MOST JSC construct the new Zeya bridge from the two banks at the same time. On the left-bank site, the foundation of two piers is already built; the preparation work is carried out on them for the construction of a pile cap.

26 piers and a cable-stayed structure will serve as a basis for the new motorway bridge. The total length of the facility is 9 km, of which 2 km is the bridge, 7 km are approach roads.

Car traffic on the bridge will be arranged in one lane in each direction. According to preliminary estimates, project implementation will decrease the traffic load on the existing bridge by 40-60%, which will allow the residents of the Amur Region to drive between the city and the federal highway with great comfort.
