More than 350 cubic meters of concrete were laid.

On the left-bank construction site of the bridge over the Zeya River in Blagoveshchensk, the specialists of USK MOST JSC, a part of SK MOST Group of Companies, have finished concreting the foundation of the pile cap belonging of the 23rd pier. More than 350 cubic meters of concrete and more than 30 tons of steel reinforcement were used to construct a 144-square-meter pile cap.

“The construction of a pile cap is a complex and demanding operation.  In order to maintain the integrity of the structure, concreting was carried out continuously for 20 hours. Also, all this time, a laboratory that controlled the quality of the incoming concrete was working on the construction site,”

said Evgeny Shvetsov, the Deputy Director of the Construction Directorate of USK MOST JSC.

Before the construction of the pile cap, a grouting layer of concrete was laid, the slurry layer of the bored piles was removed, and the reinforcement cage was installed. Once the concreting of the pile cap is finished, the installation of the pier’s body will begin.

“The Zeya Bridge is one of the main construction facilities of the region’s transport infrastructure. The progress of the bridge construction and the quality of the work performed are constantly monitored by Amuruprador, acing as the customer, as well as by the regional Ministry of Transport, which is the key spending authority. Every week, I personally hold meetings on the issues concerning building of the construction facility. The building process is going on basically in front of the residents of the region, we try to tell about its construction as much and as often as possible. The bridge is being built on schedule, the construction pace is gathering momentum, the builders are ready to erect the pier’s body. It means that the bridge is already “rising out of water,”

said the Governor of the Amur Region Vasily Orlov.

The builders of USK MOST JSC construct the new Zeya Bridge simultaneously from the both banks. 26 piers and a cable-stayed structure will serve as a basis for the new motorway bridge. The total length of the facility is 9 km, of which 2 km is the bridge, 7 km are approach roads.  Car traffic on the bridge will be arranged in one lane in each direction. According to preliminary estimates, project implementation will decrease the traffic load on the existing bridge by 40-60%, which will allow the residents of the Amur Region to drive between the city and the federal highway with great comfort.
