At the same time, the construction of a building birth for assembling and launching of a superstructure are underway

On the left-bank construction site of the new Zeya Bridge, the specialists of the USK MOST JSC, a part of the SK MOST Group of Companies, started the pre-assembly of the superstructure. The elements are assembled into blocks by welding and by high-strength bolted friction joints.

“The slabs are mounted on the pre-assembly stands, the geodetic service sets the metal structures in the design position, welding is done by an automatic submerged welding tractor, which carries out from 3 to 7 runs, depending on the thickness of the metal,”

said Vadim Syromyatsky, the chief welder of the USK MOST JSC.

After assembly, the superstructure will be installed on the supports using the longitudinal sliding method.

“We are preparing for the next technological operation: assembly and lauching of a metal superstructure. We are constructing a building birth and an anchor pillar for a pushing mechanism,”

said the chief project officer of the USK MOST JSC Eduard Davydov.

The Governor of the Amur Region Vasily Orlov visited the construction sites of the bridge across the Zeya and examined the work progress.

“This bridge is being built on the instructions of the President of the Russian Federation. The construction started a year earlier – in 2020. According to the regulations, such facilities are built in 42 months, but our task is to do it in 30 months. We see that the contractor executes the work on schedule. The bridge will be ready by the end of 2022, a service lane will be arranged on it, and commissioning is scheduled for the first half of 2023. We see that the federal budget funds – 4.6 billion rubles, which were allocated in 2020 – have been fully spended. The supply of components for metal structures is in progress. The launching from the left bank will begin in April, from the right bank will strart in July. The contractor is up to the job, there are no questions regarding meeting of deadlines,”

said the Governor of the Amur Region Vasily Orlov.

1,367 tons of metal structures have already been delivered to the construction site. The spans are made of steel, which falls under increased strength and corrosion resistance requirements. At the site, they undergo an incoming quality control: a diagnostic check is carried out and dimensions are examined for compliance with the design solution.
