The Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation and the Presidential Plenipotentiary Envoy to the Far Eastern Federal District Yury Trutnev visited the construction site of the railway bridge crossing across the Amur River between Russia and China. Ruslan Baisarov, the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the USK MOST JSC (part of the SK MOST Group of Companies) also took part in the event.

“The main structures of the bridge are ready. The only thing left do is laying ballastless bridge deck slabs and painting. The work will be done during the warm season. Also, the roadbed is already prepared for laying of the rail track panel by mechanized method,”

said Alexander Popov.

The General Director of the USK MOST JSC also noted that the construction of the infrastructure for Leninsk-2 station is currently underway: MEP systems and technological equipment are being installed in the buildings of the inspection and maintenance depot and the electric signal box.

Reference Information:

The SK MOST JSC is the general contractor involved in the construction of the bridge crossing from the Russian side. The scope of work at the site includes the construction of the Russian part of the bridge and almost 5 kilometers of access roads, the construction of the new Leninsk-2 railway station and the railway checkpoint for cargo inspection, acceptance and dispatch between Russia and China, the reconstruction of the existing Leninsk-1 railway station.

The total length of the bridge is 2.2 kilometers, 309 meters of which is the Russian part. The facility rests on 21 supports, including 4 Russian ones.

Leninsk-2 station includes 13 railway tracks: 7 with a track gauge of 1520 mm (according to the Russian standard) and 6 with a track gauge of 1435 mm (according to the Chinese standard).

After the commissioning of the facility, the delivery time of the products from the Far Eastern enterprises to consumers in China and Southeast Asia will be reduced by almost 1.8 kilometers. The operation of the existing river border crossing points will no longer depend on the seasonal weather conditions, leading to an increase in the competitiveness of the Far Eastern industry on the markets of the Asia-Pacific region.

Also, transport infrastructure will be created to ensure the access of the Trans-Siberian Railway to the Chinese state railway through the existing Birobidzhan-Leninsk railway line across the Nizhneleninskoe-Tongjiang railway bridge.
