The 336-meter-long superstructure is already installed on five supports

Specialists of USK MOST JSC, which is a part of the SK MOST Group of Companies, completed the second stage of launching of the superstructure of the new Zeya Bridge in Blagoveshchensk. The speed of the superstructure launching reached 4.5 m/h.

“We have completed the second stage of the left-bank superstructure launching – having launched 168 meters, we have reached support number 22. There are now about 3,500 tons of steel structures of the superstructure on the site. All work is on schedule,” said the project supervisor and the head of the branch office of USK MOST JSC Eduard Davydov.

In two stages of the sliding operation, the builders covered 336 meters and installed the superstructure on five supports. The total weight of the launched structure was about 1,400 tons.

The builders apply the longitudinal sliding method using hydraulic equipment. The span structures are assembled on the building birth and are launched one by one by jacks along the sliding bearings onto the ready-made supports.

The new road bridge will be based on 26 supports and will have a cable-stayed structure. The total length of the facility is 9 km, of which 2 km are the bridge part, 7 km are the approaches.

Car traffic on the bridge will be arranged in one lane in each direction. According to preliminary estimates, the implementation of the projects will decrease the traffic load on the existing bridge by 40-60%, which will allow the residents of the Amur Region to cover the distance between the city and the federal highway with great comfort.
