The Governor of the Amur Region Vasily Orlov has visited the construction site of a new bridge crossing over the Zeya River in Blagoveshchensk. The head of the region has evaluated the work progress and asked about the pace of construction and compliance with the schedule.

“According to the results of the year, we see that the facility is 52% ready. Today we are working simultaneously at five bridge piers. They are ready to a different extent: some of them are at the preparatory stage, while some of them are being constructed. The works in the riverbed are in full swing, the supports No. 10, 11, 12, 13 are being built. We expect the river ice will freeze up any day soon, so we will build a pontoon bridge to get to and start working on the deepest pier No. 9. We are also actively constructing the roadbed. As for today, one and a half million cubic meters have been placed. We also continue to reinforce the embankment slopes,” said Eduard Davydov, Project Supervisor and Chief of Zeya Branch Office of BTS-MOST JSC.

He noted that the work is carried out on schedule, despite the summer flood and the late river-ice freeze-up. Specialists react promptly, reсonsider technical solutions and take all necessary measures in accordance with the current situation.

“The facility is extremely important to us, so we will continue to monitor the bridge construction progress and provide our builders with all the necessary support,” said Vasily Orlov, Governor of the Amur Region.
