President of Serbia Aleksandar Vučić and Prime Minister of Hungary Viktor Orbán have launched traffic on the Belgrade-Novi Sad section of a high-speed railway, which includes two viaducts built by the specialists of Bamtonnelstroy-Most Group of Companies.

“Our dreams are coming true, today we can get from Belgrade to Novi Sad in just 33 minutes. Our railways were built by our Russian and Chinese friends, we thank them very much for this. This railway will bring the Serbs and the Hungarians closer. Budapest will be only two, two and a half hours away from us. It’s is unbelievable what kind of connection it will be. I feel happiness, it is a historical event for us,” Vučić said.

The commissioned section will become a part of the Belgrade – Budapest railway, the first high-speed railway in Serbia. The train speed will be up to 200 km/h.

The length of the two viaducts constructed by the builders of BTS-MOST Group is about 3 km and 330 meters.

The large viaduct is located at the Chortanovci tunnel exit before the town of Sremski Karlovci on the floodplain of the Danube River. The piers of the structure are 24 meters tall, which is as high as an eight-story building.
