Gazprom and Bamtonnelstroy-Most put forward a proposal to develop the Eastern Polygon

The consortium of Gazprombank, which implements the strategy of the infrastructure #MEGAPLAYER, and Bamtonnelstroy-Most Group of Companies put forward a joint initiative for a comprehensive turnkey implementation of project “Railway Infrastructure Development of the Eastern Polygon’s Railways” on a concession basis. The project is aimed at increasing the carrying capacity of the Baikal-Amur Mainline (BAM) and Trans-Siberian Railway (Transsib) up to 280 mln tons of cargo per year by 2035.

Development of the Eastern Polygon will eliminate transport capacity constraints and “unclog bottlenecks” of the BAM and Transsib. The project is relevant today due to the reorientation of Russian exports and necessity to create a new center for global development in the Asia-Pacific region. The project will boost the development of the Russian Far East and Siberia, contribute to the development of vast resources and economic potential growth of the regions.

Gazprombank is one of the leaders in financing infrastructure projects based on the principles of public-private partnership. The bank is involved in a number of finished or ongoing projects at some certain stage of development in various industries – roads and railways, port infrastructure, creation of infrastructure at deposits, projects improving the transport accessibility in the north, east and south of Russia, social facilities, such as university campuses, schools, kindergartens and hospitals.
